I’ve gotten more questions about the Funzze Lip Shaped Vibrating Nipple Clamps from anyone who has seen them than I have any other sex toy I’ve ever owned. Mainly it’s “what are they?” So, I think it’s pretty safe to say they spark people’s interest. Their name is pretty self explanatory “Lip Shaped Vibrating Nipple Clamps” but just seeing them without that context can be confusing.
What drew me to the Funzze Vibrating Nipple Clamps was specifically the fact I do not have any vibrating nipple clamps. I have used and enjoyed nipple clamps of a few varieties, and I’ve used vibrators on my nipples, but I’ve never used vibrating nipple clamps.
Specs
The Lip Shaped Vibrating Nipple Clamps are made of body safe silicone, and they have little ridges inside the “mouth” for better grip and enhanced sensation. The inside of the lips, where you place your nipple is built to accommodate multiple nipple sizes, by having smaller edges and a bigger center. It’s just the natural lip shape, but it’s very beneficial for accommodating more than one size.
The Lips measure about 2 and ⅞ inches from side to side, and just shy of 2 inches top to bottom. The widest part of the mouth opening is almost ¼ inch, and when you stretch the Lips to their widest point you can get it to almost a ½ inch.
They power on and off from a single button, placed centrally above the top lip. This single button will allow you to cycle through the 9 functions, or you can use the remote control they come with to cycle through the functions. The remote control features a power button and a single button to change the level/intensity.
The Lips take about 1 hour to charge and this gives you about 50 minutes of run time.
Using the Funzze Lip Shaped Vibrating Nipple Clamps
My nipples have been pierced in the past and this changed their sensitivity. They’re both more and less sensitive. I’m giving this disclaimer because it obviously impacts my review of these Vibrating Lip Nipple Clamps.
The first few times I used the Lip Nipple Clamps I struggled to figure out a good way to get them on. My nipples are on the bigger end, and the lips aren’t very flexible. As usual, lube makes all the difference. I still have to awkwardly struggle a bit to push my nipple through the opening of the Lips but the lube makes this process much easier.
The ridges inside the “mouth” help to grip my nipple better and prevent the Lip Clamps from falling off easily. The longer I wear them the intensity of these little ridges can also build up. It’s never reached an extreme sensation or been actually painful for me, but there’s definitely a discomfort element to them. I like this sensation, and it’s one of the appealing aspects about nipple clamps for me. Once they’re removed the lingering sensation is not as extreme as something like clothespins, more of just a sensation that leaves them feeling like they’ve been messed with.
The Vibration in the Lip Shaped Nipple Clamps
The motor in the Lip Shaped Vibrating Nipple Clamps is pretty strong power wise; I would classify it as more buzzy than rumbly though. I am not orgasmic from my nipples, so the build up of the vibration and sensation I’m seeking through nipple stimulation is entirely different from what I seek from clitoral or vaginal vibrations. This means I actually like some of the patterns in the Vibrating Lip Nipple Clamps more than the steady speeds sometimes.
When I am using the Lip Clamps on a steady vibration setting my nipples become numb a lot faster, and my body tunes out the sensation rather quickly. However, just like some toys I use on my clit, if I turn the setting to one of the patterns it actually allows me to keep feeling the sensations for longer.
Since the motor is on the more buzzy side it does eventually cause my nipples to become mostly numb to the sensations, no matter which setting or pattern I use, but the experience isn’t bad up to that point.
The motor is strong enough that the vibrations spread out into some of my breast tissue, but not all of it. The numbing sensation doesn’t spread farther than my areolas.
Once my nipples are mostly numbed out from the vibration I can leave the Lip Nipple Clamps on, but they’re not doing a whole lot by that point because they’re not clamping tight enough for me to notice them. However, they also don’t feel uncomfortable or really get in my way, so that’s a win.
Using the Lip Shaped Nipple Clamps with a Partner
The Lip Shaped Nipple Clamps come with a remote control for changing the setting, and this can also make it easier to give whoever you’re playing with control of them. The little button on the Lips themselves isn’t super easy for someone else to press, because there’s too much give when trying to do it against skin, and if you put your fingers behind for resistance, you are likely to make them slip off the nipple to some degree. So the remote removes these troubles, rather you’re alone or partnered.
You can have one Lip Nipple Clamp on and one off and the remote still works. If both are on, the settings change together when you click the button.
Appearance wise the Lip Nipple Clamps look nice. They’re on the bigger side, compared to more simple clamp styles, but for motored clamps they’re reasonable. However, their size does mean they catch on things more frequently. This leads to them coming off during more movement heavy activities, and position switching.
How I like Using the Funzze Lip Shaped Vibrating Nipple Clamps
I use the Lip Clamps as an addition to my masturbation when I am craving some nipple stimulation but don’t want to have to really do any of the work myself. They’re a way to add some continual pressure, without it becoming too overwhelming or extreme, so it doesn’t take away from whatever other activities I’m enjoying.
I often alternate between turning the vibration off and on, going between steady and pattern settings. Unlike with clit and vaginal vibes I am less picky about how the patterns feel, because the point is more just about not about going numb. Since I am not orgasmic through my nipples the pleasurable sensations do not build up the same way.
Using the Funzze Lip Clamps on Other Body Parts
I’ve been asked if the Lip Clamps could be used on the clit (or your preferred term), and the answer is yes, depending on size, and your level of comfort with it being squeezed.
I consider my clit to be of medium size, and the Lip Clamp’s mouth opening is too small for me to really get a good fit around my clit, and that’s without it being completely erect (so in a smaller state). Also, even if it could fit, I know its motor wouldn’t be my preference for clit stimulation. The clamping aspect could be nice, but for me, it will have to be with something bigger.
Noise and Lights
The Lip Shaped Nipple Clamps are not silent or particularly quiet. They’re not the loudest vibrator I have, but they’re not really muffled through use, either. Some vibrators once you press them against your body the noise level is dampened, but with these that isn’t as much of the case. You couldn’t use them in public without someone hearing, if you have the motor on. They’re also not well-suited to discreet play because of their size, but there’s maybe workarounds for that.
As long as I have the television or background music playing while I am using them I am not particularly worried about them being heard by someone else in another room.
There is a light that comes on when you turn the toy on where the power/control button is. It pulses to the beat of whatever pattern you use, or stays steady for the steady speeds. This makes it easy to see where the control button is if you’re not using the remote, but if you or your partner find pulsing lights distracting that may be an issue.
Charging the Lips
The Funzze Lip Clamps come with a well-thought-out charging cord; it’s one cord with a dual-head that connects to both nipple clamps at once. It’s magnetic charging, so it comes with the same fickleness that most magnetic charging does (getting everything completely stable before you walk off), but I am glad I do not have to use two separate cords to charge them.
Cleaning and Waterproof Level
Cleaning the Lips isn’t too hard, you just need a brush or a cloth to clean in between the little “teeth” well. As usual, I suggest cleaning with mild soap and warm water. Dry with a lint free cloth, or let air dry, and always ensure your sex toys are completely dry before storing them away.
The Lips are listed as submersible, so you don’t have to worry about water damage while cleaning, and you can take them into the shower, or bath if you desire. I do not know what submersible rating they are, so you may want to err on the side of caution with long stints of submerging them in a bathtub or pool.
