I’ve pretty much always had a thing for tentacles, but texture has always been a fickle thing for me, so I’ve never bought a tentacle dildo. That is until now. Recently I noticed that my vulva and vaginal skin hasn’t been as sensitive as it was in the past. I attribute this to having my recurrent yeast infection issue under control for a few years now. Battling constant infections left my skin thin and damaged, but it seems I’ve finally done enough healing that texture is less of an issue for me than it used to be. That’s not to say I’m ready for all the most intense textures ever, but I can finally move past ultra smooth insertables, and dip my toes into the textured pool.
That’s where we enter the story of Levaina, a sea monster themed tentacle dildo made by Flirty Dawg. Flirty Dawg caught my eye with their super adorable dragon fruit pour, and with my newfound interest in texture I had to get my hands on this fruity little sea monster. Normally I go for 00-50 medium firm silicone these days, but with the prominent suckers on this tentacle I was happy to see it had been poured in soft 00-30 silicone.
Flirty Dawg shipped my order out super fast from California, and it came in a plain, unmarked box, and the return label had no mention of the business name. It also came with a miniature of one of their models, and a sticker.
My Levaina tentacle is the 7 inch model, which the maker lists as being 5 inches usable. The tip is half an inch in diameter, the shaft widens to 1.7 inches diameter, and the base is 2 inches. The base also has the howling wolf that is Flirty Dawg’s logo. Circumference and measurements in centimeters can be found on Flirty Dawg’s site. The Levaina tentacle is also offered in an 8 inch model.
Why I chose the size I did
The Levaina tentacle is shorter than many of the dildos I use, which are those sizes because I am in love with pounding my cervix and its fornices, but that’s not always the goal. I have several great dildos for this already, so I wanted an addition that could provide different sensations than my other tools. The Levaina tentacle really excels in stimulating all of my shallower hot spots, as well as my entrance on both the front and back.
What’s the Levaina texture like?
Using the Levaina is an intense and intoxicating experience. The texture of the suckers is immediately noticeable upon insertion and stays that way the entire time I’m using it. The suckers grip and roll over my urethral sponge tissue and entire front wall. Depending on how prominent this spongy tissue is for you, and how sensitive, this will change some. As I’ve gotten more and more in touch with my body and my own pleasure this area has really heightened in sensitivity for me.
The texture of the suckers at my entrance and the first inch or so of my vaginal canal is intense, but in a good way. I do suggest using extra lubrication even if wetness isn’t something you struggle with because it will help with avoiding friction irritation. The Levaina tentacle has a cascading effect of ridges on the rest of the dildo, which is mild in comparison to the suckers, but it doesn’t feel completely flat and smooth.
What surprised me about the Levaina’s shape is the divot about midway on the backside. When I am thrusting the Levaina in and out this divot does so much to stimulate my entrance along the back wall. Adding a butt plug into the mix can also heighten this sensation. I knew to expect intense stimulation on my front wall from the suckers, but this divot and the ridges kept my back wall engaged.
Everyone’s entrance and first couple inches of vaginal canal (or your preferred term) may not be as sensitive as mine so of course this could change for you.
Other ways to use the Levaina
The second way I like to use the Levaina tentacle is as a shallow dildo and grinder combo. Inserting the Levaina about halfway and then folding it to rub the rest of the suckers on my vulva and clit brings me to fast orgasms.
This once again puts focus on the shallow nerve endings of my vaginal canal, while also stimulating my vulva and clit with the texture of the suckers. I have previously written about being disappointed by the lack of texture on grinders, and the Levaina tentacle solves that. Using it as a dildo and grinder at the same time allows me to indulge in a favorite combo of clenching on a toy while stimulating my clit at the same time, too.
The Base and Holding
The base, which is used as the handle can become slippery with lube and vaginal juices but all of the varying texture and designs on it help me to be able to keep hold of it. The way the base curves on the back also works as an area to really hook my fingers into and keep hold. If you (or a partner) find that the handle becomes too slippery for you, keep a hand towel or washcloth nearby to wipe your hand on to help solve this problem.
If you have really big hands or just prefer to have a lot of handle space for your dildos you may want to opt for the 8 inch Levaina.

Fantasies and Fun
If you have any fantasies of being taken by, or using tentacles, like I do, this tentacle dildo is well designed for it. One of my requirements when I decided to finally take the plunge on testing out a tentacle was more prominent suckers. Part of the appeal for me of suckers is for them to be prominent and provide a sucking-like feeling, or more intense texturing. This dildo succeeds on that front, catching along my walls in a satisfying, “pop-like” way. The base is also detailed and unique, having almost an armored, or shell plate look. This can help your imagination fill in details for what the Levaina would look like as a fully formed sea monster.
One of the fun parts of fantasies are the elements beyond just the sensations these toys provide. The other senses can be just as important to fantasies. If you’re into wet, squelchy, popping, or smacking sounds this dildo excels in providing that while in use. This can be a great element for filming sexy clips.
Am I a texture convert?
I initially worried I bit off more than I could chew with the texture but after my very first use of the Levaina tentacle I was hooked. The texture was the step up I had been craving from the texture of veins and skin folds on my other dildos. Now the caveat to that is I still can’t use super textured sex toys all the time. Depending on where I’m at in my cycle my skin can feel too sensitive, and my own wetness varies wildly. Sometimes even with additional lubricant the friction of the texture can be too much for me.
I also have a sensitive urethra and sometimes intense sensations feel great on it, and sometimes they feel very uncomfortable. It’s just something that varies for me. If you too have a sensitive urethra don’t be discouraged and think you can never use textured toys. Warming up with another toy first, using extra lube, and turning the most textured area off center from your urethra are all things you can do to help manage this. You can also apply more pressure to the back wall so it takes the pressure off your urethra and front pubic bone area. Depth and speed of thrusts can also play a big role.

Cleaning
Cleaning the Levaina does require extra care because all of the suckers will collect body fluid and lube. My preferred way of doing this is to use a super soft toothbrush I have just for cleaning my sex toys but you can also use a washcloth, or just your hands, just be super diligent. Use warm water and mild soap of your choice and scrub the whole thing down really good. No worries about waterproofness.
