Thalia Tentacle Review

I received my Thalia tentacle at the same time I received my Elwyn dildo, the elf lord, (review here if you missed it). Immediately upon seeing Thalia for the first time I thought about how cool it was that someone made a tentacle dildo that was small, because many fantasy dildos are rather large. Many folks want to get into fantasy toys but are intimidated by the size, so having smaller options is great.

I have reviewed a few of Squidly Co.’s products in the past, and they’re one of my favorite companies to work with because of their values. They care about the queer community and their products are well made, using high quality materials. 

While the 6 inch Thalia tentacle is fairly average length, and below average girth, the suckers are not subtle. I really appreciate that because it gives those who want the intensity of fantasy textures, but still in a more average size, a well-made option.

Specs

Squidly Co. Makes Thalia tentacle in three sizes, a 6 inch, an 8 inch, and a 10 inch variety. My Thalia tentacle is the 6 inch version which has 5.5 insertable inches. The widest point is 1.25 inches diameter, and the base is 2 ⅝ inches across. And it weighs just 3.5 ounces. You can visit Squidly Co.s website to see the specs for the other sizes of Thalia. 

My Thalia tentacle is white and some shimmery blue color (not sure which, sorry). I didn’t pick the coloration but it’s a beautiful, swirly pour and very ocean-coded.

Using Thalia Tentacle

Thalia tentacle is one of the thinnest dildos I own, and while that initially made me worried I wouldn’t enjoy it, it has turned out to be a very delightful surprise. When I am masturbating (or having sex) my muscles clench so freakin’ tight. I do not say this as a brag, because it’s a hindrance. When trying to thrust toys in and out of myself it can be really difficult because my muscles clench so tight it is an extreme workout for my arm, or my partners. Therefore, I do not always get the range of motion I really want to with thick toys, because my chronic pain riddled arms starts to give out. This is where the 6 inch Thalia tentacle can really shine. This thin tentacle dildo is slim enough I can thrust through my overly tight clenching easier. This also really allows the suckers to shine. 

Since I can thrust the Thalia tentacle with a longer range of motion even through my tightest clenching the suckers can feel super intense, in the best of ways. The amount of blood flow the stimulation brings to the whole area creates a cycle of me never wanting to stop, as my sensitivity increases in the best way, and I get wetter and wetter.

The 6 inch version of the Thalia tentacle is slim enough that I can off-center the stimulation along my front wall by slipping it into the “valleys” on either side of my urethral sponge tissue (G-spot), too. This is a level of precision that I normally only get from fingers. I can easily switch between keeping Thalia centered or targeting the left or right side of my vaginal canal. 

The 6 inch Thalia has 5.5 inches of insertable length, which is just enough for me to poke around my cervix, and into my fornices, but it’s not particularly adept at stimulating these areas intensely. I definitely consider Thalia tentacle to be more of a texture stimulating dildo, and not a spot-targeting dildo.

Thalia’s Texture 

As I’ve been establishing more and more lately, I am definitely in my texture era. When Squidly Co. said the suckers on the Thalia tentacle are a thrilling, grinding sensation for the G-spot they nailed it. The suckers are sooo stimulating to my vaginal canal, rather I’m using them on my front wall or back wall. Yes, even my back wall. I had no clue the suckers would feel so nice on the backside wall of my vaginal canal, but they do. 

The suckers on Thalia tentacle are mobile and pronounced, just the way I like. A big part of my tentacle fantasies is very pronounced suckers that make themselves known, and Thalia excels here. 

I can also feel the more subtle, bumpy skin texture on Thalia tentacle where the suckers aren’t. I was surprised by this because I figured it may be too subtle but I think the consistency of it really helps bring it to life. It’s not that it’s an extreme texture by any means, I can just tell that it’s not super smooth when I am using it. I honestly think I could really enjoy a dildo that was this texture everywhere if it was just dialed up a bit, and had areas that were more extreme. However, Thalia tentacle has suckers as well, and I wouldn’t trade them for the world.

Thalia Tentacle’s Shape

Thalia starts off thin and gets a little wider as you progress toward the base. The tentacle twists slightly, meaning the suckers aren’t quite in a straight line. I didn’t initially believe this slight twist was going to do much for me but it does actually make a small difference in the stimulation. Since my muscles do clench so tightly I definitely can feel the subtle turning effect this creates when thrusting Thalia in and out. 

The suckers being placed in a twisting manner does also give me more “monster fucker” vibes, which yes please.

I Want Multiple Thalia Tentacles

The only way I could make my experience with the 6 inch Thalia better is if I get multiple. After a couple times of using Thalia I started daydreaming about getting 2 or 3 to double or triple stuff myself vaginally, being stimulated by the suckers from every direction. The thin body of the 6 inch Thalia definitely makes it a prime candidate for my “multiple tentacles at once” desires. The only thing that may be somewhat difficult in this scenario is juggling all the bases.

If multiple tentacles doesn’t make your brain buzz the way it does mine you still can choose which size best suits your preferences. I have no doubt that every size of Thalia will feel just as good as the 6 inch version I have.

Suction Cup Base

The Thalia

tentacle has a suction cup base that is very strong. Like strong enough the tentacle stretches to almost double its length without disattaching from a smooth surface when I pull on it. 

I use all of my suction cup dildos on the Body Dock thigh harness, currently. I usually strap it onto a pillow and straddle it. The Thalia tentacle stays attached very well to it and I enjoy the variety that the suction cup allows me. 

The suction cup base also makes Thalia tentacle harness compatible, but I haven’t used it that way, beyond peacocking around my room with it in a harness. I did grip and pull at it to make sure the base wasn’t too flimsy to stay in a harness though, and it held up well.

Urethra Caution 

So this won’t apply to everyone, but if your urethra gets pulled inward when you insert anything into your vagina (or your preferred term), or it’s just particularly sensitive, the suckers on the Thalia tentacle dildo can be quite friction heavy. Make sure you use extra lube (remember no silicone lube with silicone toys), and perhaps even turn the suckers off center if you’re having a sensitive day. My urethra is mostly okay since I’ve managed to repair my skin so much, but there have been a couple times I have gone overboard with Thalia tentacle and it felt irritated for the next few hours. Just stay aware of your body, and your lubrication levels. 

Cleaning, Storage, and Discount 

Cleaning Thalia tentacle is fairly straightforward; you will need to make sure you clean around the suckers really well since they collect lube and body fluids. I use an ultra soft toothbrush that I have just for sex toys but you can use a washcloth or even just your fingers, just be diligent. Clean with mild soap and warm water, and ensure your dildo is dry before storing it.

If you need to further sterilize because you’re switching between holes or partners, or you’ve recently had an infection, you have a few options. You can use a 10% bleach solution to soak it, you can run it through the dishwasher with no detergent, or you can boil it.
